Knitting is when you use a needle to create a fabric by knitting it together. The knitting process varies depending on the unit you are making. The types of knits include Weft, Warp, Circular, and Filling knits.

Warp knitting

Several types of knitted fabrics are created through warp knitting. They are used in apparel, furniture and furnishing, medical and sportswear, home textiles and more. The fabrics created through warp knitting are less elastic and often more dimensionally stable. They also allow for more custom stitching patterns and are less likely to run or twist.

Warp-knitted structures are used for hollow organ support, artificial arteries, tissue scaffolds, and hernia repair. They are also ideal for complex medical textile applications. They are also used in wind energy generation, windmills, and reinforcing concrete. Several different yarns can be used in warp knitting. These yarns are usually polyester.
